Welcome to the Connection Project!

Being away from home is hard enough, never mind during a pandemic.
Mental Health Matters’ Society’s Connection Project is here to help you connect with others in Sheffield during this difficult and challenging time of lockdown.
It has been a rough start to the 2020/2021 academic year, why not take some time to yourself and (virtually) meet someone new?
By filling out the Connection Project Google Form you are reaching out to make a new friend, we are just giving space for connections to form. Everything is confidential, only your future friend will have access to your name and email address.
We at Mental Health Matters Society are very excited for you to join The Connection Project! New friends are waiting.
Is there any support available?
We understand that Mental Health support is extremely important and thus, we have compiled university and non-university support services available here, some of which also provide 24/7 support
For information and support regarding University’s policies on bullying and harassment, please visit: https://www.sheffield.ac.uk/ssid/harassment

How will the Connection Project work?
We will connect you to another student across the University based on the information shared in the Google Form. Therefore, answering as many questions as possible, and in as much detail as possible can help us connect you to someone best suited to your responses. However, it is important to note that we may be limited by the nature and number of responses we receive.
Please note: The Connection Project is NOT limited to first year students and can be used by everyone across the University. The Connection Project is solely focused towards connecting people and developing friendships. It is not an alternative to professional mental health support and does not expect any of the participants to be involved in the same. It neither is a mentoring/support service.
